One of the best ways to make money on Clickbank is to start as an affiliate. You’re promoting products that someone else created.
They created an optimized sales page for it. They will offer support to people who buy through you. And you need to send some traffic to it and make some cash.
Like picking your niche, choosing the best Clickbank product to promote is extremely important.
No matter how good you are at promoting, if you push traffic to a sales page that doesn’t sell, you will not make much money.
In this short article, I will show you how to choose the best Clickbank product to promote.
Although most readers of this blog know what Clickbank is, let me take a few lines below to define what it is for new guys who don’t know it.
What Is Clickbank?
For me, Clickbank is a marketplace for product creators and affiliates to make money without cumbersome paperwork or agreements.
Vendors can go and list their products at the Clickbank marketplace. An affiliate can go to the marketplace and find products they want to promote. This way, both make money.
Why you should start with Clickbank if you’re new to affiliate marketing
When you sign up to Clickbank as an affiliate, you gain access to a database with thousands of products to promote in almost any niche.
Vendors don’t need to approve you to promote products in Clickbank. The commissions are usually between 50-75%, with a higher price tag.
They have a vast selection of electronically downloadable digital products to choose from, and they handle all of the payment processing, so you know you’ll get paid on time.
Plus, they provide real-time reporting of all of your products. The site also provides good feedback on products that sell well and have high commission rates.
How To Choose The Best Clickbank Product To Promote in 6 Steps.
So now you know what Clickbank is and why you should start with Clickbank if you’re new to affiliate marketing, let’s start with Clickbank
1: Go to Clickbank marketplace
The first step is to go to www.clickbank.com and click Marketplace, as shown in the image below.
If you have an audience, click on the categories and choose a category related to your audience.
If you don’t have an existing audience, click on the search bar, as shown in the image below.
All products are arranged according to their popularity by default, but you will want to set them according to gravity.
To do that, When the search results appear, click in the drop menu and choose Sort by gravity, High to Low.
For those who don’t know, Clickbank gravity is an estimated matrix that indicates the number of affiliates who have made a sale promoting a product in the last 12 weeks.
For each affiliate who made a sale, the product is given a number between 0.1 and 1, depending on when the sale was made.

All you need to do after that is look for a product that you want to promote. For me, these are the things I look for in the product.
2: Check out Clickbank marketplace statistics
The second step will be to review the list of affiliate products that will appear on your list.
Clickbank marketplace will give you several details about each product they have. The only thing you need to do is to look up those numbers and choose the ones that are convenient for you.
I will give you the meaning of each number and the criteria I use when choosing the best Clickbank product to promote.
Gravity
Most people will tell you you must promote products with the highest gravity.
This is a myth because higher gravity does not necessarily mean it is a good product.
Because everyone and his dog preach about promoting high-gravity products, most affiliates, especially new ones, tend to promote these products and create unnecessary competition. Also, Clickbank gravity can be manipulated.
I will say choose a product between the gravity of 10 and 50 if this is your first Clickbank promotion.
Stick between 20 and 30 if no product is in that range. Depending on the niche, You can go a bit low or high.
Initial Sale
This is how much you make when people buy a particular product using your affiliate link.
I tend to choose products with initial sales equal to or above 20. If I make at least one sale per day, I will make at least $20 daily, which is not bad.
Initial $/conversion
This is the amount of money you will make on average for every sale you generate without rebills. This commission includes all the upsells, bump sales, and initial sales.
Recurring $/rebill
This is the amount of money you can make as a rebill. If the customer keeps paying each month after the purchase, you can expect to be paid that amount.
If this number is $0.00, the products do not have recurring payments, so you will not make any money after the initial sale. If it is higher than 0, it means it has a recurring income.
Get your affiliate link.
So now you have done all the work and found your product. You need to get your affiliate link.
This is easy. Just click the promote button (the one below Avg $/sale and this popup will appear in a new window.
At this step, you will need a notepad or any word processor. All you need to do is copy the name and the link of all affiliate products that meet the abovementioned criteria, then go to step three.
3: Check out for a sales page or sales video
So now you have a list of possible affiliate products you may want to promote. Remember, you don’t have a winner yet.
Now, you have to go one step more. You must visit a sales page or video for each link you copied in Step 2 above. Here, you need to check out a few things.
No Adsense ads on the page
Believe it or not, some vendors put Adsense ads on their sales pages. This way, they can make a few dollars on the traffic you send them.
If the vendor is not confident in his/her product, why would you want to promote this product in the first place? Stay away from a product with Adsense on the sales page/video.
Affiliate link to other offers
Some shameless vendors will put their affiliate links to other Clickbank products or from different affiliate programs. You should stay away from these types of products.
Other distractions
Also, avoiding any affiliate offer with many useless banners, links, and other distractions would be best.
Opt-in page
I’m not fond of affiliate products that send your visitors to their opt-in page first and then redirect them to the sales page.
The problem is that if that person does not buy and the vendor sends them an email later, they buy, but you will not get a commission from that sale on a different computer.
All I like to do is send a person to my squeeze page and then send them to the sales page. If they don’t buy, I will send them a follow-up email using my affiliate link.
Bonus: If the sales page offers a bonus, that is great; bonuses are proven to give your prospects the final push to decide to buy.
Also, check if the vendor uses unethical ways to promote his/her products, and make sure they don’t make huge claims that they can’t back them up. This will save you from potential troubles from the authorities.
It is crucial to use your intuition and decide if this is the product your audience will love to buy and will help them solve their problems.
4: Check out for promo materials
You must also check if the vendor offers promo tools and materials. This is important, especially if you’re new, but it is not that important for me.
You can always create your promo materials with minimal effort. But it is a bonus point if they have them.
5: Send an email to support
If you have any concerns about their product, send them an email, and take note of how long it will take them to reply.
If they never respond or take too long to reply, there is a big chance that they will do the same to the people who will buy through your affiliate link.
This will piss most of them off, and they will refund the product. This step is essential because you don’t want this to happen.
6: Buy the product
Most Clickbank products have a great sales pitch. They will tell stories that people want to buy, and when they buy, they won’t deliver on those promises ( they do this because they know most people will not take action so they will be low refunds, and they will make a lot of money by selling a crap product).
You must buy the product to know exactly what your customers will get. Also, purchasing a product will give you a good feel factor, as promoting a product you know will certainly help your prospects.
If you don’t have money to do this, you can research and check out what people say about the product. If you find many bad reviews, it is probably a sign that it is not a good product.
Ask yourself: Would I pay for this product with the money? If the answer is no, don’t promote it.
7: Promote the product
So now you have the best Clickbank product to promote. If you find more than one product, pick the one that resonates with you the most, or you think you can produce some content about it and then start promoting it.
There are many ways to promote Clickbank affiliate products. You can build a review blog. You can use Twitter and Facebook to create an email list, etc.
